Don't get distracted by the bells and whistles..,
September 18, 2008
By Goodtimes
"You may ask; “Why a negative review when most of them are positive?” Simple. I've had my bbq for almost two years whereas the bulk of the reviews come from people that have own them for less than a year. I, like most of the other reviewers, was very impressed with this unit in the first 3 months; however, this thing isn't built to last. This bbq will fall apart in a very short time, even if you "baby it" like I do. Take note however that the Blue Ember's customer service is awesome and have never questioned me once anytime I've contacted them to replace an item… and there have been many calls to them as you will see.
So here it is. This is what has been replaced on my beautiful Blue Ember grill with less than a year and a half of mileage on her: 1) I'm currently on my third set of porcelain grills and I need new ones AGAIN. Take note, that will be 4 sets of grills!! The porcelain flakes away within months then starts to rust badly. 2) I've replaced the rubber bumpers that prevent the lid from slamming down… once each. 3) The thermometer which is built into the top logo has been replaced due to the needle breaking off (not just the gauge but the logo itself broke in half) and I will need to order another thermometer/logo because the current one is "blackened out" due to smoke. 4) Speaking of "black out", the interior light and cover have been replaced because of this black out problem and after six months it’s useless once again so it needs replacing. By the way, the light is a great idea on paper but in real life it doesn’t last! 4) The interior tray that catches and directs all the dropping from the grill into the small square tin fell apart about two months ago. It crumbled!! That's about it. People might think that I abuse my bbq and in reality I'll bet I take better care than most of you out there. I only use brass brushes on the grills and the bbq is always covered. I maintain my bbq as per the owner’s manual and yet I can see replacing all these items again before the Spring. Thankfully I'm not required to pay for this... yet… but when will Blue Ember stop the freebees? I’m sure they will get smart soon.
My advice to prospective buyers, please don't get distracted by the ice bucket/condiment holder/garbage can, the bottle opener or the light, they are simply useless gimmicks. You will never use them, or won’t be able to use them long. You can’t even use the ice bucket if you are using the rotisserie as the rotisserie motor blocks use of the lid! At first this bbq looks like value based on the price, but when you consider how cheap the parts are and how long it will last, you would be better off getting quality... like a Weber, which Home Depot sells as well. The "stainless" cabinet doors will dent in a light breeze. My brother's Weber has been abused for over 6 years, and he bought it used and has NEVER needed to replace anything. Stainless grills work nice... porcelain is garbage. Why do these companies think that they are good… probably cause’ they know you will need to replace them in a short period of time."

Research! Reasearch! Research!,

"During a late spring storm, our old BBQ (which was approx 12-15 yrs old) was caught up by the strong winds and bounced across our yard!
I was completely confused by the enourmous amount of makes, styles and sizes of BBQ's that were on the market....not to mention what materials were best for the body, the grill, igniters...etc.
Home depot was the only site that had customer reviews, which I thought would be the truest review. It didn't take long to see by the amount of reviews and the level of reviews, that this was the one for us old farmers (who enjoy good eats for supper while having a "cool one")!
This baby has impressed us in every aspect. I will not have another grill that isn't cast iron based. The whole concept is good, I can't wait for my dad....the BBQ king of the family to try it out for size! I am very interested to see if it holds the heat as well in the winter, as we like to BBQ in all seasons, especially on a nice winter day on the prairies!
A huge plus for us was the terrific staff at Home Depot. Very helpful and skilled. When we went to pay for this BBQ, we were pleasantly surprised to see that it was on sale, saving about $100.00 plus a voucher for free assembly or an additional $40.00 off!!
Can't go wrong with this one,
Thanx Bunches to the staff at Sherwood Park Home Depot!

Blue Ember BBQ,

"We are really happy with this BBQ and all its little extras are really cool. The only issue is the grill, the spaces are too large and our smaller food items (ex. chicken wings) keep falling through. Otherwise it is a good product for the price."

"Absolutley love this barbeque! Did some research prior to purchasing this unit and with all of its features(along with a top score in Consumer's Report) this was a no-brainer to purchase. Have had nothing but complements and questions about the unit and will continue to brag it up to friends and family."

high end line fiesta bbq great!,

"I was never a big fan of Fiesta BBQ's but I love the new higher end line of Blue Ember BBQ's they are great quality at a reasonable price. I bought mine recently and love the little details and features that it comes with. The Broil Kings with the same features are way over priced, I think. And the 7 year warranty is a real plus with the Blue Ember. If you want some features at a decent price , definitely check out the blue ember line."

Great Grill,

"Bought this due to reviews and the fact that my local HD also dropped the 40.00 assembly fee as I was going to assemble it myself.
Assembly is quick as all parts are actually labelled, especially the screws which sometime can be a problem.
I called blue ember wit ha couple of quick questions and I was on hold for less then 1 min.
The grill is great, looks smaller than it actually is in the store so you may want to measure your space for it before you pick it up.
7 year warranty was a huge part of my decision to purchase this grill. So was the Fiesta name.

Excellent Value for High Quality BBQ,
May 8, 2008
By Carolboo
"I did quite a bit of research before purchasing this BBQ. The consumer reports convinced me to give it a try as I was not thinking that Fiesta made a really high quality product. I have had the unit for only a week now but have been very impressed with the quality, ease of assembly and features. Also I am very pleased with the 7 year warranty which was a huge concern after reading horror stories of others buying cheap stainless BBQ's and having the burners blow out in less than 3 months and then not being able to get any replacements for months or not at all. I did have a small problem with the light power box cord that seemed to have a short in it and would not stay on. I have just called Fiesta and was on hold for under a minute. The part is supposed to be shipped to me within ten days. So far so good."

"I bought the bbq in the end of may, It works great, easy to use, really easy to start, Easy to clean. Looks great, But my temperature gauge glass, has smashed from i assume the internal heat of the unit. thats the only fault, i have with it. Maybe i am just too fussy, like things to look good. But i would definitely reccommend purchasing the bbq to my friends,"

Awesome grill.,

"Bought this very stylish grill for Mothers day already assembled. The grill is great! Love the rotisserie, it cooks food to perfection. I make meals for the week on it. 3 - 4 types of meat at different heights. Did you know you can tilt the cooking grates to cook well done and rare on the same grate? Love all the features on it. Would like a shelf on the inside of the cabinet . To me that would be a super addition. Awesome warranty - 7 years reducing. It doesn't get better than that. This is the best bang I found for my buck. Highly recommend this grill"

"I am very impressed with this unit,From assembly to Operation, I got it in early April and use it at least 3 ot 4 times a week. Looks like it'll be in use around here for a long time. I shopped around and found this was by far the best bang for my buck. Last week I even sold one at our Local Home depot and I don't even work there. That's confidence. Happy BBQing"

Very neat feature-rich barbecue at a good price!,

"Love my Blue Ember grill and I'm very happy that's the model I decided to purchase. It competes with other BBQs that cost 700+ dollars.
____________________________________
Pros:
- Very easy to assemble. Replacing pieces won't be a problem either if I decide to keep this one for a very long time.
- Stainless steel parts made of 304 grade
- 3 x 15K BTUs main burners heat up extremely fast (700 degrees in less than 10 minutes!)
- Electrical light included, for cooking at night.
- Real IR rotisserie burner. Too many models still use a standard gas tube.
- Smoker box included, and there's a place to mount it on one side under the cooking grill.
- Cooking area formed of 3 grills. Easier to remove when you have to clean or use the rotisserie.
- Easy to clean up: bottom part under the burners slides out of the barbecue from behind.
- Lava rocks era is over ;)
__________________________
Cons:
- Side-burner ignition seems iffy. Sometimes I have to turn off the right burner so that I can light it up. My gas tank was almost empty so might have been due to lower gas pressure ...
- I would have preferred a second side-burner instead of having the ice bucket option. It's not something I really care about having on my barbecue. Maybe I'm just asking too much ;)
- 4 small wheels so not ideal for somebody who would have to move his barbecue on the grass, etc.
- One screw wouldn't fit in when I assembled the barbecue. It's rather typical but annoying nonetheless ...

$ for $ Best BBQ on the market,

"I was a little concerned when I first bought this bad boy. I've had this BBQ for 2 months now, and grill at least 3 to 4 times a week. Every time I use it I fall more and more in love with it. Great heat, no hot spots. It may not have the name recognition of the big names in the business, but Fiesta sure built a heck of a winner here."
