Nice looking,

"Very nice looking product, is great for areas like a mudroom or bathroom as it's easy to clean and water resistant. However, very hard to cut around door frames and vents, can be hard to work with. Make sure you have a very sharp knife and lots of patience when working with this flooring. End result is worth the pain and suffering caused while working with it! Looks great in my mud room, really like the end result. Husband has recovered from trama of laying floor and likes the end result too!"

"DO NOT install this flooring in an unheated area. A three season unheated cottage for example. The flooring becomes brittle and shrinks so there are gaps at the seams. I'll let you know what it looks like in the spring when the temperature warms up hopefully it will expand without any problems. Right now at -20 it is a mess. During my winter inspection I wouldn't walk on it for fear that any flexing would crack a plank. There is no temperature warning on the box or in the box, but it is mentioned in the manual that can be downloaded.
It looks great in the summer and was easy to install.

Easy to work with Resilient Plank Flooring,
January 19, 2009

"When all your houseguests comment on what fabulous new hardwood floors you have, you must have done something right! The laying of the planks was quite slick and easy once we got the hang of scoring (not cutting) the planks in order to create appropriate sizes to fit our various rooms.
What took us the most time and energy was creating a smooth subfloor before lying the planks. This was necessary to secure the 25 year guarantee from the manufacturer. Our home is older, so we had a fair bit of work to do. I am glad we did though, as it looks so good now-:)

"We recently used this product in our laundry room. It looks fabulous and friends say it looks and feels better than laminate or lino. We're really please with the final result HOWEVER, for people like us who are not experienced D.I.Y.ers, I would say make sure you have half a day and a very sharp utility knife. We tried using a cheap exacto knife and it was way to hard to cut through the planks. Also, you really need to measure exactly as it's tough to cut off1/2 and inch or less."

TrafficMaster...this flooring is not,
September 21, 2008
By ServiceAndQualityMatter
"After completing 2 out of the 3 rooms that we wanted to do (with this flooring), we have decided not to do the third room because of the poor quality of this flooring. We will be returning the rest of the unopened boxes. Yes the cost is low, but along with that is the low quality. It scratches and marks very easily and is not worth it. Not resilient and not durable. We are very disappointed."

"After moving into my new condo I put the Rustic Allure into my 2 bathrooms. Because of the easy installation, great price, and fabulous look my parents asked for me to help put it into their new lake front home they were building. My mom and I installed it into 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and the laundry room. The consensus from everyone is "it looks amazing". For two women 40 & 62 years old to install it with that much ease I would say anyone could do this."

"Pinch me! Am I dreaming? This flooring is too good to be true. Everyone who walks on it is positive that it's real hard wood. It looks so perfect. You can install this stuff right over your old flooring as long as it is properly fastened and secure. The only thing you need is a utility knife and nothing more. This is the real thing folks. Check it out, you'll love it."

"My wife and I have replaced most of the carpet in our house with click laminate. We had the in-floor heat poured in concrete when we built our house 9 years ago. We would like to have had real hardwood except it would most likely get very dried out with the in-floor heat not to mention we have two Bull Terriers that would wreak havoc on hardwood. Therefore we chose laminate flooring. After many pain staking hours of preparation and using self leveler, as with the click laminate if there is anymore than an 1/8" dip you are going to feel a bounce. After using 3 bags of self leveler at $50.00/bag in one room, feathering the edges so there was no lumps and waiting 24 hours for it to cure, we were ready to put down our vapor barrier underlay. Once cut and in place the flaps had to be sealed with Tuck Tape to create a seal against any moisture that may develop over the changing seasons. Then to cut, fit and lay each piece of laminate banging the grooves from both directions together to ensure a snug fit, in itself can be a painful task and what seemed to be an even longer process. Assuming the floor level, there were still some dips that couldn't be detected until the project was complete.
Next we decided to do the living room. We tore out some walls, carpet and French doors that separated the room from the kitchen and dining room. As it was our living room we had to look for a laminate that would serve high traffic as well as look good.
I was in Home Depot one day and came across TrafficMaster Allure Laminate flooring. As I picked up a piece to get a better look I was surprised at its composition. Unlike other laminates this product was pliable. After further inquiring into this product, it was brought to my attention it is also waterproof as well as great for in-floor heat and could be laid directly over concrete. I brought a sample home from the store to show my wife and she liked it immediately.
The TrafficMaster Allure worked out to be $1.80+-/sq ft., which is comparable to regular inexpensive laminates. However we didn't need to level the floor as TrafficMaster Allure contours the small dips that are present in the concrete and being waterproof we didn't need the underlay, as there was no fear of moister having any affect on it. Not having to level the floor and not requiring underlay, in itself was a big savings in time and out of pocket. Even though TrafficMaster Allure can be cut with a knife, I used my compound saw making sure my edges were straight and aviator sheers to cut out for returns and doorjambs. With the click laminate I was using an 80-tooth carbide tipped saw blade per room (total of 3) which can get very expensive. The living room installation went very quickly as I didn't have to remove any baseboards unlike the other rooms. When you get to the end, against the wall, it was so easy to bend back and curl it under the existing baseboard securing it in place. I installed cove molding to take up the difference between the thickness of the carpet and the new laminate. As far as the finished look goes, I had a finished carpenter in my house doing some work and he walked on the floor for almost an hour before he realized it wasn't real hardwood.
I am so impressed with TrafficMaster Allure and its ease to put down, I took a sample to work to promote it to some of my colleagues. Since then I have put down approx. 600 sq ft at my cousins place, another 240 sq ft in a coworker’s family room in her basement and I'll being doing some rooms in my father's house as well, but not before I do my own basement. Bottom line, I would not hesitate to recommend the TrafficMaster Allure laminate floor to anyone for any application. Great product, easy to install, looks great and easy to care for."

"We really like the look of this flooring and the intallation was super easy. I have found however that it seems to scuff quite easily. We have used Armstrong Once 'n Done and the scuffs are still noticeable. We had high hopes for this flooring
but have felt a bit dissapointed.

"The installation was simple, and the floor looks good; there was however one "board" that had an obvious defect in the finish. Now we'll just wait and see how the product performs over time. If someone has long term experience with this floor please send a follow-up."

Vinyl Flooring,
November 7, 2007
By doogie
"I've placed this flooring through-out our home, and I am very pleased with it.
Easy to clean and maintain, and fairly easy to install. A little tricky around corners, but overall, pretty straight forward. Don't place the joints too tight, or the floor will start to bow. Leave a little room for expansion with changing temp etc. I also used the TrafficMaster peel and stick tile in a bathroom. It too turned out quite nice. Again, very easy to clean. I installed right over an existing vinyl floor, and it looks fantastic. I would definetly recommend this flooring if you are looking for an inexpensive, but attractive way to unify the flooring in your home.

"So simple to use, My home has a lot of crazy angles and I didn't want to waste the time running out to the garage for different cuts for laminate. I am also not a saw user and was uncomfortable with the idea of using one. I was able to do 1200sq ft in one day, by myself. Just a ruler, straight edge and a olfa knife was all I needed. I have recommended this product to all of my friends, most of them can't even tell it's vinyl until they get down on their hands and knees and really examine it."
