Premium Plus 6250 Watt Portable Generator,

"Hi, We recently purchashed a Coleman Powermate, Premium Plus 6250 Watt Portable Generator at Home Depot and are very pleased with it. The unit is very quiet and easy to start. I think it is as good or better than more expensive units and has given us peace of mind as we experience frequent power outages. I highly recommend this product."

Coleman 6250 Portable Generator,
March 1, 2007
By SmokinJoe

"Bought this item after much searching and reviewing. Price was driving factor but having bought other Coleman products I was willing to try it. First thing noticed was the wheels where they performed badly on rough terrain and difficult to haul up stairs from storage. Suggest purchase of pneumatic wheels of same size as not to throw off level during operation. Filled the unit with SAE 30 added stabilized high octane fuel and pulled the cord. The Coleman started first pull. The loudness of the unit was a bit much but it's performance soon out weighs that. I get about 11hrs on min load 60-70%. This unit performs well and is quite comparable to others costing much more. This unit will be used for household backup and the odd camping excursion. The only reason why this unit never acheived the 5 stars was the wheels and the noise level other than that it works very well and should work for a long time."

"If you don't leave it in the box till you need it it works fine. Yes it's a bit noisy and you can get quiet ones for only about $1200 more. It does more than I need and if it's like the last Coleman I owned it should give me problems in about twenty years."

"I put it together as per instruction book filled with 5w30 synthetic oil and regular unleaded gas.unit fired up on the third pull of the cord I added the load which came up to about the limit and it worked well. my only complaint is the engine noise which is very loud (in my opinion) I have emailed coleman to ask if there is a different muffler system available.if there is not I can live with it."

Ensure you Test the Gen before you relax.,

"Bought a brand new Coleman 6250 Watt Generator. Left it in the box for about a year untill the day I needed it. Prepared the Gen for action as per manual. Pulled the cord and nothing. Engine does not run no matter what. I am an engineer and well familiar with engines. All I can say without touching it any further is that it is a fuel system related problem . I recommend never to buy Coleman product. I imagined these items will be at least tested once before leaving the manufacturer. Piece of junk when you need it most after spending well over $1000 to buy it."
