pretty good, very good exercise!,
August 30, 2008

"One thing for sure, if you want to use this tool, you will have to water your lawn the evening the day before you do the job. It worked very well for me, in the front yard where we had watered the day before. In the back yard, I had to forget about it, dry soil will not work with this, or any other machine. When the soil is dry, even the gas powered aerator wil not work, it will only puncture the grass without removing plugs of soil. Which I guess would compact the soil even more.
Also, keep in mind that I'm a 200 pound man. My wife, weighing 120 pounds wasn't able to do the job. She was just not heavy enough to puncture the soil.
My front yard is 15' x 30' and it took me 1/2 hour."

Not Bad,

"When buying this I wasn't sure because most things like this don't usually work like their supposed to. I was wrong and it works great, a little bit of work and time but it beats renting a big machine. Make sure the ground isn't too wet it works better when it is dry."

Gets clogged easily,
June 14, 2008

"Clogging was a major problem for me - I had to stop every minute to unclog the thing. Other than the clogging it's good. Maybe it's my soil, I have heavy clay, and I tried with dry, moist, and soak, and it always clogs."

The Hound Dog-Great Tool for Aerating,
January 22, 2008
By AshaTheHandyWoman
from Ontario, Canada
"The Hound Dog is easy to use, fast and allows you to do some light, fun physical work but not to the point of over exertion, unless you have a massive lawn! It would be nice to see it have a third corer. The plugs can block if the lawn is not wet enough, slowing down the job but other than that, it is a good tool for the price if your lawn needs an aerator."

So easy to use!,
February 20, 2007

"The aerator was so easy to use! We used it on our lawn the day after a rainfall. This is important....you want the ground to be damp, not really dry or soaking wet. You get into a rhythm, and it's all done in no time. We would have given it 5 stars if it had just one more plug remover. You get a bit of exercise while doing it, and it's better for the environment than a motorized aerator."
