"I installed this in my 30's home, and intend to apply for the Government of Canada ecoaction grant for installing it. It does a great job of controlling humidity generated in the bathroom and kitchen, and it's nice to have the tempered intake air freshen up the basement, where many older homes have moisture, odour, and general air circulation problems. It is quite quiet, although not absolutely silent. Note that it is also larger than I had imagined! I found the chase that contained the vent stack was the ideal place to run the duct up to the bathroom. I split to two 4" round ducts, rather than using the one 6" round supplied in the accessory kit you will need to buy, one to the kitchen, and one to the bathroom. A kitchen stale air intake should have a grease screen cover. I can control the unit throughout the house as I wired its outlet to a three way switching system."
