"I used a squeegee as I saw many reviews online and thought that squeege would be less cleanup-- it worked great. It was additional cost and it spread the product thicker so it took a bit to dry and is still curing but i am staying off of it for a while to let it cure properly. looks great after and I am happy with it so far-- driveway has a nice colour. be prepared that it will take more buckets if you squeegee it on. my neighbour is using the same stuff after me and he is rolling it on. He will get away by using probably only 3 buckets so it really cuts it down by a lot. I do have to add my driveway was slightly rougher and the aggregate is bigger and shows more than the driveway next to mine....also slightly bigger in area but in any case, rolling will use less product. I will be happy if it lasts longer than his as it cost me more to do. we will see after the winter with all the shoveling and also in a few years. so far so good!"

"Last May we hired a company to reseal our driveway for $1700 (150ft long) and they chose to use this product. It was warm and sunny for several days but once the rain came, this product started to lift and leave weird oily residue marks. It looked terrible. We posted a review here and the company that makes the product contacted us immediately to make it right. So they supplied all new product and the guys that applied it, did it again. It all looked great until the snow left this winter. We were very careful and used a rubber blade on our plow and never let it scrape the surface of the driveway (we are trying to sell our home so wanted it to look perfect) but we were so disappointed to see the product had lifted, flaked and crumbled in several spots. See the photo, that is just one small spot. It seems anywhere that there was any water pooling, it did not hold up. Our driveway looks horrible now and we are out $1700. It's not the fault of the guys that applied it.. and it wasn't the weather as both times it was sunny for several days after. They applied it both times in the early morning so driveway was cool. Not impressed and do not recommend this product at all. It's unfortunate it didn't work. There are also many long cracks that we didn't have before."

Latex-ite,

"Used this product today under cloudy cool conditions and it applied with little effort. Product was applied using roller on a year old driveway. I have used sealers in the past and this product was by far the best I have used. Clean up was a breeze.
I would use and recommend product for its ease of application and coverage.

The Best Driveway Sealer,
July 27, 2012
By Shah

"I had applied a driveway sealer made by another company with 7 years warranty 2 years ago. But it was a time to reapply. I visited several hardware stores online and ended up selecting this one. When I went to home depot, I was told by 2 employees that this is a bit thick formula and I will have to use squeegee than roller to apply. I was little disappointed because squeegee itself cost around 15 dollars. However I ended up buying this sealer for my neighbor and myself. We used a roller to do the job. We completed job in about 3 hours with 2 coats and still had some leftover in the container.
Follow this for best results with fewer hassles. Not perfect but worked very well for me:
1) If you have cracks and holes in driveway, fill up all using driveway resurfacer. Comes in a gallon or larger container. It is like a thick paste, easy to apply and will dry quickly. Do it few days in advance.
2) Prefer a sunny hot day and no rain in 24 hours. However in my case it rained same evening but sealer was already dried up so no issue at all.
3) Swipe and wash your driveway well day before. I had a shop vacuum so it did excellent job to pick up dust, send and even a small stones. Get a City Permit for parking your car overnight on a street.
4) Wear old clothes and have gloves on. However this is a latex formula so you will be able to remove it with water and soap from your body within few seconds. This is the best part of the product.
Make sure you get everything out that you may need from garage including your car first :-) before applying sealer.
5) Open a seal around the cover. Then use any hard object which is wider then a flat screw driver. Just push from bottom to top around the cover and you will be able to open it without any difficulty.
6) Using a large stick mix sealer for at least 10 minutes. In the beginning you will be finding thick paste at the bottom but after it will mix-up well. Also make sure that while applying sealer every few minutes just mix it again. I left my stick in the container until I finish.
7) My neighbor and I started early morning. We started at the same time since we share a driveway (Semi). Didn't spray any water because driveway was already cool. However if you try to do it in hot afternoon, better spray some water to cool it down.
8) Use a brush and complete all corners first similar if you paint a wall. Any brush with good bristles will do.
9) Using roller, apply sealer from top to bottom as well sideways. Mix sealer in between. Apply first coat by taking time and making sure that you cover all tiny cracks and holes. You will notice that formula will start getting thicker when you are almost completing a first coat. But don't worry this will give a thick second coat which will fill up gaps and very good finishing.
10) Let it dry and apply second coat. Put visible objects surrounding driveway so nobody walk or drive a car into driveway until sealer is dried. If possible don’t park your car in your driveway for the night. However my neighbor did it but no issue since sealer was already dried.
After looking at our driveways, neighbors started asking where did I got the product, how long it took to apply etc.
I hope the company still make this sealer and available in home depot down the road. I will definitely buy this again."

Mostly Good,
May 30, 2012

"With the price under $19 and the promise of 4 years, I applied this product today May 30, 2012, on my double drive.
Pros:- Mixing was easier than other tar based products
- Very little smell
-Nice mat black finish
Cons:- Lid is harder to remove than others
-While rolling out, has tendency to develop tiny, rubbery debris that has to be re-rolled to smooth out (is that the "latex" ?) Annoying but not a major issue.
Hint: I have used a squeegee in the past to coat the drive and it took far too long to do. This time I used a long handle roller and the job went much easier and quicker. Spend a bit of time cleaning and prepping the drive. Use an old paint brush to get closer to the edges and fill in the minor stone holes at the finish.
